NSO Holds Auditions

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following vacancy:

Associate Principal French Horn
Contract Musician—Keyboard
piano/celesta / harpsichord

Auditions will be held on
Horn: 09:00, July 15, 2013.
Keyboard: 13:00, July 15, 2013.
Applications should be received no later than June 25, 2013.

IEW connects you to Taiwan

The Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles is a representative office of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Republic of China (Taiwan), in the southwestern areas of the US. This office aims to promote educational exchanges and collaborations between US and Taiwan. We are proudly present to you the International Exchange Window (IEW) program established by MOE to provide comprehensive, up-to-date and in-depth information on international exchange opportunities for primary/secondary schools.

 

The following is a brief introduction to IEW:

 

What can the IEW do for you?

The IEW helps you to easily search for Taiwanese partner schools, and provides exchange opportunities. Also your exchange program can be immediately become available to all primary and secondary schools throughout Taiwan by up-loading your program information to the IEW website. We cordially invite your institutions to join in the program and become partners.

 

Programs call for your participation:

1.      Activities for US Schools, Teachers and Students:

Primary and secondary schools in Taiwan welcome American teachers and students to come to Taiwan to participate in their exchange activities, such as but not limited to sister school exchange programs, teacher exchange programs, theme-based study camps, classroom and on-line learning, learning Mandarin Chinese and culture activities etc.

 

2.      Study or Intern Abroad:

We welcome US primary and secondary schools to provide with exchange opportunities and activities, such as courses of learning English, culture, history, geography, civics, computer skills; internships for Taiwanese students of high schools and vocational schools to learn foreign language or professional work skills, workplace ethics and culture or company visits are also welcomed.

 

3.      Internet Exchange Activities:

We welcome opportunities to offer our primary and secondary students with international and theme-based learning exchange activity projects and exchange activities projects including but not limited to the issues of health, environment, music, arts and science.

 

4.      International Conferences and Competition:

We encourage students to participate in international conference and competition activities and welcome any learning opportunities provided by the conference and competition organizers, such as international education summit meetings, forums, seminars and competitions, etc.

 

5.      International Student Volunteers Programs in Taiwan:

We welcome international students of undergraduate or graduate levels and international students who are currently studying in degree or Mandarin Chinese langue programs in Taiwan to participate in volunteer programs at primary and secondary schools. Volunteer work includes teaching assistants, student counseling, student affairs, library services, student club leaders and camp counselors and so on.
